OWA won't login except for administrator |
|
|
I have server 2003 trial and exchange server 2003 trial both with all
available updates. I can login as administrator to OWA and public folders but
when i try to use any other account it acts like the account doesnt exist or
the password is wrong, by not logging in at all. However i can access the
same account through an email client like outlook express using pop3. I have
gone in and made sure several times in ADUC that OWA is enabled for the user.
I even went as far as copying the administrator account to a new account, and
got all the same results. I am NOT using forms-based authentication. Whats
the deal?

Ted,
You may want to try to authanticate those users with
doaminname\username
is this working or are you getting the same results?
also is there any interesting events on the event log?
would you please post it, and also the full error you are receiving
Cheers,
oz

Yes i haved tried domain\username style auth will no avail. Also there are no
exchange related errors in the event logs. This does seem to work when i am
logged in locally on the domain. Its only when non-domain computers try to
access OWA. When i am on a domain PC and profile it doesn't even ask for a
username and password just logs right in under the current users mailbox. The
problem is with comptuers that are non-domain (not added) and are either on
the local LAN or coming in form outside i have determined with my own laptop.
Any ideas? Also if there would be any other Event logs that would help let me
know.

One area to look for events is the IIS server that has OWA set on it. That
may be where you will find the security issue and events in the log.
