Exchange 2000 (Admin tools) on W3K |
|
|
I am currently in the process of upgrading all our Windows 2000 Domain
Controllers to Windows 2003 Domain Controllers. I do not plan to upgrade our
Exchange 2000 servers to 2003 anytime in the near future. I had Exchange
2000 installed on the Domain Controllers for adding users with mailboxes, but
if I understand correctly I can not install Exchange 2000 on the W3K box. Do
I need to install the W3K Admin tools and Exchange 2000 on a workstation and
use that for AD user administration, or is there another solution?

Any reason you can't simply logon directly to the Exchange 2000 server
via a Terminal Session? |

As long as I can use the Windows 2000 Admin tools to modify our 2003 AD, I
can log onto the Exchange 2000 Servers and modify AD from there. Since I
can't install W3K Admin tools on a Windows 2000 box and I can't install
Exchange 2000 Admin tools on a Windows 2003 box, I am not sure how to handle
AD w/ Exchange administration properly. Right now I am continuing to use the
2000 Admin tools on the Exchange servers.
