I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this but here is my
question.

I have various resources that users will need to schedule (rooms, equipment,
etc) via e-mail. Users will use the calendar to request an appointment with
a particular room. If no conflict exists and the appointment is accepted an
e-mail will go back to user stating all is ok. Currently we use GroupWise
and we can setup resources (as resources).

How is the best way to set this up? As a contact? User with E-Mail?
Other?

I can figure out the minor things but were is the best place to start?

Most people use public folders or set up a mailbox for this. Public Folders
aren't recommended as much anymore since MS is phasing them out with
applications like sharepoint.
