Internal Mail Address |
|
|
Hi,
I have an Exchange 2003 organization. I would like to know if it is
possible to restrict an address (like company@company.com) only for the
local users. In fact, only the employees can use this address, and
nobody else.
Thanks.
Mike

Essentially that is part of registering your domain and then having your MX
send to your mail system. Maybe I am not completly following your question
though. Do you have multiple sites and you only want your site to be able to
recieve email sent to @company.com? |

I have one site.
My domain is <company>.com
We have several mail address visible from the Net.
I want to know if it is possible to have an distribution list which the
address is only usable for LAN users ant not for a person who send us a
mail to our organization.
For exemple, I have a distribution list which have an SMTP address such
as company@company.com
I want to have this address available only for the local users (via
Outlook) and not for a person who want to send us a mail.

Yes you can do this. On the properties of the Distribution Group, Exchange
General Tab, look under the Message Restrictions section. If you check the
box "From Authenticated Users Only", no one from outside your organization
will be allowed to send e-mail to that distribution group.

The domain itself will be available across the web but you could certainly
set the accept mail from list for that distribution list and place all your
exchange users in that list of accepted senders so only those users will be
allowed to send to the DL. Then set all others as senders to reject mail
from and no external will come in. |
