No worries; the two are tied closely enough, that it fits in either genre.
To answer the question, how are you disabling the accounts? Manually?
Automatically? Semi-Auto?
The time to remove the user from DG's is as you disable them. The best way
to do this depends on your requirements.
Removing them from groups is something that only an admin should do. It's
not a good idea to bake that into the AD or Exchange product although it
would be nice if Exchange would deliver to disabled user mailstores. That
in fact it can do, but it's not an obvious thing.
Let us know the actual requirements, and we can make suggestions from there.
