Re: Exch2003 - multiple exchange servers behind 1 router |

David-
You can definetely do this. You'll need to do a couple of things to get it
all working:
Create three recipient policies with the three domain names. This tells
Exchange that it should handle email for these domains.
Create two routing groups - one for the company.com vlan, and one for the
vlans behind the second router. You'll need an SMTP connector to connect the
admin & edu vlans up to the company.com one.

I need help with the setup of the following domain:
We have one location with one internet connection with one router so we
can
only forward port 25 to one server (there will be 3 exchange servers in
total - company policy)
The main domain name will be for example company.com. In that LAN with
that
exchange server will be another router that seperates the other 2 exchange
servers. Those will have the domain name education.company.com and
administration.company.com. How do I setup this kind of thing?
Do I need to be responsible for the DNS zone or can I ask my provider to
set
the MX record for the 3 domain names to our one public accessable server?
With this setup can all 3 domains send mail to each other without going to
the internet?
I created a simple overview which you can find here (22kB)

There is one more thing which doesn't really apply to exchange or AD, but
to
networking in general. Assume I have a thousand client pc's. I sure can't
put them in one subnet because of broadcast storms, so I need to put
routers
somewhere. What is the max. number of clients you recommend on one subnet?
I
was thinking of one subnet per floor (5 floors total ; +- 200
clients/floor).
thanks,
David
