Exchange Migration |
|
|
We plan to migrate from our email system, IMail, to Exchange 2003 later this
year. A colleague and myself will be doing the migration, and we're both new
to Exchange.
Things are complicated by the fact that we also host two other companies
email on our current email server, they both share the same email domain. We
REALLY don't want them on Exchange, but for political reasons this might
have to happen, grrrrrrr. The problem is that the other two companies are in
a different Active Directory Domain, this domain has no connection with ours
at all, there are no trusts etc and there never will be. Now can we host
their users mail boxes on our Exchange server WITHOUT allowing their users
access to other domain resources? Obviously their users will have to have
accounts in our domain for them to have a mailbox. I could lock these
accounts down so they can't login to any workstations on our site etc, but I
can see things getting very messy. We're hoping that things will be such a
pain that we'll able to put management off the idea, and instead give our
old email server to the other companies and tell them it's their problem.
Cheers
Kerry
