    5.5 to 2003 upgrade questions

I am in a small Win2000 AD domain running exchange 5.5. I would like to
upgrade to Exchange 2003 for multiple reasons (OWA advances, Oulook over
https, etc.). It is a single domain, already running AD...although not
    using anything special with it.

    Questions are:

Can I leave all servers (4) on 2000 and introduce a new 2003 server which
    will hold exchange?

Do I have to do anything else with the 2000 servers if I do that?

Would it be safe to say I could just follow Microsoft's standard deployment
    method?

Thanks a lot. I welcome all answers!

If RPC over HTTPs (your Outlook over HTTPS) is a requirement, you will need
to upgrade your domain controllers/global catalogs servers to Windows 2003
as well as install Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003. Other than that, you can
introduce an Exchange 2003 server into an Exchange 5.5 site that runs
    predominately on Windows 2000 (SP4).

There's no problem with that at all, unless you start introducing 2003
Domain Controllers, then you will need to run adprep.

Othan than having to extend the schema for Exchange and the ADC, thats it.

Most of the documentation and deployment methods are centered around
    environments just like yours.
