    New Exch2K3 server replacement

    I'm replacing a Dell Poweredge 2550 with a 2850 (similar hardware). The
2550 has Win2K and Exch2K3. I would like to move to Win2K3 on the 2850. Is
it better to do a disaster recovery scenario, then upgrade the NOS, or
install Win2K3 with a separate name and move the mailboxes, replicate public
    folders, retire the 2550, etc.?

If you don't want to keep the same name, I would advise you to do swing
    upgrade:
"How to upgrade to Exchange Server 2003 by using the swing upgrade method",
    http://support.microsoft.com/default...B;EN-US;821896

(You're not really doing an upgrade, but the principle is the same). If you
follow this method you'll have a smooth transition with no downtime.

If you want to keep the same name, you can folow the steps on this article:
"How to Move Exchange 2003 to New Hardware and Keep the Same Server Name",
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822945

Personally I prefer the first one.
