Setting up RPC over HTTP on our exchange server tonight - re

I am going to be enabling RPC over HTTP on our single Exchange 2003 server
tonight. Currently it's a single server, no frills, just doing it's thing.
We have no proxies or anything like that, our network is a fairly simple
windows 2003 domain, domain controllers, file servers, exchange, SQL, etc -
no management servers, proxy servers etc.

From what I've read in the articles on this I basically just want to install
RPC over HTTP from add/remove programs on the exchange server and our GC
domain controller, configure the authentication methods for the RPC virtual
directory in IIS (which I'm hoping will show up there after installing RPC
over HTTP in add/remove programs? Cause it's not there now), select the
option for RPC-HTTP back end server in exchange system manager, open the
ports on the firewall and away we go.

Sounds easy enough, but then I've been witness to exchange servers eating
themselves just cause you restarted them...I hate messing with exchange, I'm
nervous as hell about doing this (yes we have backups - that I would REALLY
prefer to never have to use), has anyone had a disasterous situation result
    from enabling this?

    Thanks!!

Any and all moral support is welcome!

    Hi Scott,
Did you ever get this RPC-http working? Because I added the RPC Proxy on my
W2K server and I do not see the RPC Virtual Directory in IIS. Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Hank
