    Exchange 2003 & Outlook 2003 from internet

    Hey

What would be the best way for user to come in through firewall to get mail
using outlook. I have setup OWA but some of the big bosses want to use
    Outlook 2003 instead.

Currently I have 2 external IP address pointing to exchange server.

1st ip address xx.xx.xx.219 is for receiving/sending smtp mail, all incoming
smtp mail is scan by Spam Marshall applicance then forward to the exchange
    server.
    mail.domain.com points to this ipaddress

2nd ip address xx.xx.xx.220 was setup for use for OWA users type
    https://xx.xx.xx.220/exchange to get there

I have start testing IMAP for do this. But I am having problems with the
sending of mail back to the exchange server. I think I am missing something
on the exchange server side, but I am not sure

A new feature that combines Exchange 2003, Outlook 2003 (11) and
Windows XP (SP2 or SP1 with fix) enables your users to use Outlook
whilst sat on the Internet and access their mail as if they were in
    the office, "RPC over HTTPS".
    See:
    http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/...ange_2003.html
as the main source and also www.microsoft.com/exchange. There are a
couple of whitepapers/articles to get you started on this depending on
    your Exchange and AD topology.
    Also see:
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourc...en&q=rpc+https
    for some troubleshooting.

Do you know what ports outlook will use when using RPC over HTTPS. I have
OWA access ports setup and working, but Outlook RPC over HTTPS must be using
more as it will not connect to internal exchange server, If I shutdown
    frewall it connects.

I setup outlook per Tips on msexchange.org, I get the login prompt for the
exchnage server, but when I click on my mailbox box I receive the error.

The set of folders could not be opened.

Using WIndows XP SP2. Outlook 2003

Outlook also seems extermely slow since adding the connection to the
exchange server . I also have IMAP configure to same server.

On exchange proxy settings I am using the actual IP address instead of a
domain name. OWA uses an IPaddress as well.

    https://xx.xx.xx.xx/exchange for OWA
https://xx.xx.xx.xx for RPC over Https proxy settings.

I also tried to download the address book with no luck.

I have that TCP port 443 on firewall, being forward to exchnage server, but
like I said OWA works fine, Outlook doesn't work.

If I shutdown the firewall outlook will connect, so there has to be
    something else its using.
